Do You Know The Difference Between Mediation And Arbitration?

Mediation is where I facilitate communication but the ultimate agreement is primarily from the parties.

Arbitration is where I am asked to make a decision in a situation based on the law and information the parties share.

Both of those roles come with a great deal of ethics and neutrality. If the parties cannot reach an agreement in mediation they may wish to shift to an arbitration where I impose a solution without the need to re-address the entire situation in front of a different person (not all mediators are qualified to be arbitrators). Arbitration can be much faster than going to court; getting the dispute behind the parties and allowing them to move on to more productive activities!
